Low Pressure Compact lamp

Compact lamps are available in a specially engineered two-tube linear innovative design, which allows a very uniform output. We provide all standard lamp sizes as well as custom configurations.

The high efficiency of a compact lamp is created by leaving a small dead space at the end of each of the two parallel tubes. Because this area is not part of the path followed by the discharge (farther away from the center of the discharge column) the wall temperature is lower than anywhere else creating a dedicated mercury cold spot.

These compact designs are available in quartz glass for both 254nm and 185nm technology. Tidro also offer compact lamp designs using pellet amalgam Technology. Providing outstanding UVC efficiency, it is one of the best value solutions available in today’s market.

The sun's rays with wavelengths less than 300 nm are blocked by absorption by the ozone in the stratosphere. You can download the extraterrestrial (AM 0) and the standard terrestrial (AM 1.5) spectra from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory Web Site (http://www.nrel.gov/rredc/). This is why there is so much concern about the reduction in ozone levels caused by ozone depleting compounds (e.g., chlorofluoro hydrocarbons from Freon gases) escaping into the atmosphere.
