Precautions for the use of household ultraviolet germicidal lamps

Ultraviolet sterilization is to destroy and change the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) structure of microorganisms through ultraviolet radiation, so that the bacteria die immediately or cannot reproduce their offspring, so as to achieve the purpose of sterilization. The real sterilization effect is UVC ultraviolet rays, because C-band ultraviolet rays are easily affected by organisms. DNA absorption, especially the effect of ultraviolet rays around 253.7nm is better. Ultraviolet sterilization is a pure physical disinfection method, simple and convenient, without secondary pollution, and the application range of household ultraviolet germicidal lamps is continuously expanding. Let's talk about the precautions for the use of household ultraviolet germicidal lamps.

1. Don't let the ultraviolet light source irradiate people, so as not to cause harm. Ultraviolet rays have obvious effects on human skin and eyes. Short-term exposure to the human body will cause red, itchy, and allergic pimples; long-term exposure can cause serious damage to skin tissues, and sufficient exposure can even cause skin cancer. Ultraviolet rays also affect human eyes. Very harmful, short-term and high-dose exposure can cause red and swollen eyes, tearing, and inability to open eyes. Long-term exposure to ultraviolet light can cause cataracts and even blindness.

2. When using ultraviolet rays to disinfect the surface of an object, the surface to be irradiated should be directly irradiated with ultraviolet light and reach a sufficient radiation dose. Due to the linear propagation of light, when the object is blocked, reflection, penetration or absorption will occur. Ultraviolet disinfection requires that the wattage of the ultraviolet lamp per cubic meter of space is ≥1.5W, and the irradiation time is generally 30 to 60 minutes. It also stipulates that the intensity of ultraviolet radiation should not be less than 70 ūW/cm2, otherwise the sterilization effect is poor or ineffective, and the sterilization will not be achieved. Purpose.

3. The suitable temperature range for UV disinfection is 20℃~40℃. Too high or too low temperature will affect the disinfection effect. When using UV to disinfect indoor air, keep the room clean and dry to reduce dust and water mist. When the temperature is lower than 20 When the temperature is higher than 40°C and the relative humidity is higher than 60%, the irradiation time should be extended appropriately.

4. Pay attention to the wiping and cleaning of the lamp in the application. When using a new lamp, use 75% alcohol gauze to wipe the lamp tube to remove dust and oil stains on the lamp tube. Wipe regularly during use, and clean the lamp tube so as not to affect the purple light transmittance and radiation intensity.
