Questions about the choice of household UV disinfection lamps
Sep 07, 2021
There are many types of ultraviolet disinfection lamps. There are U-shaped ozone ultraviolet lamps, double-tube ultraviolet germicidal lamps, ultraviolet stepless disinfection lamps, and water treatment ultraviolet disinfection lamps. When most businesses sell UV disinfection lamps, they clearly warn that “people, animals and plants must leave the scene when disinfecting UV products”, because the UV intensity of the UV lamps can reach several times the intensity of the noon sunlight, which will affect the human body and movement. Plants cause certain damage.
The rain is continuous, and many people have the same trouble, that is, the washed clothes never dry. Some people feel that they can simulate sunlight sterilization and disinfection at home and buy a UV disinfection lamp to take a photo to solve the problem of bacterial growth caused by insufficient sunlight.
So, is the UV disinfection lamp stable and what are the precautions when using it?
The use of ultraviolet disinfection lamps for disinfection is very common in hospitals. It is mainly used to eliminate germs in the air. However, there are relatively strict operating specifications when using it, that is: people need to leave the scene, otherwise ultraviolet rays will cause human skin and eyes harm.
If the skin is exposed to ultraviolet light for a long time, redness, swelling and peeling may occur. At this time, it may require symptomatic treatment and apply some skin-protecting medicine. Occasionally entering the room to take things, such as short-term exposure to ultraviolet light, will not cause damage to the skin.
Compared with the damage of ultraviolet rays to the skin, the damage to the eyes is even greater. The ophthalmologist pointed out that ultraviolet rays are a kind of light that is harmful to the eyes. When human eyes are exposed to ultraviolet rays, the corneal epithelium will directly absorb ultraviolet rays, causing a large number of corneal epithelial cells to fall off. Medically, this condition is called electro-optic ophthalmia.
In addition to UV lamps, industrial electric welding, plateaus, snow and reflections on the water surface may cause UV damage to the eyes. After the cornea is damaged, the eyes will shed tears, and the symptoms of photophobia, redness, swelling, and pain should be seen.
Therefore, the use of ultraviolet disinfection lamps and other lamps in family life requires special care and cannot be used for a long time.
